BREWERS RADIO ANNOUNCER
Bob Uecker
American former Major League Baseball player born in Milwaukee, award-winning sportscaster, comedian and actor. Uecker was given the title of "Mr. Baseball" by Johnny Carson, on whose Tonight Show Uecker appeared 64 times.

In 1971, Uecker began calling play-by-play for the Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts. He also pursued an acting career, with a successful five-year run of the television sitcom Mr. Belvedere in the 1980s. He played a prominent role in the movie Major League, and did several humorous Miller Lite beer commercials.

Uecker was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2003, he received the Ford C. Frick Award, bestowed by the Baseball Hall of Fame to a broadcaster for "major contributions to baseball."
